Nouvelle version (par Jonny + Supergrass + Johanna Newson) : décembre 2014

C’est une morceau qui a connu une trajectoire étonnante… On l’a longtemps connu comme un instrumental de Radiohead avant que Jonny ne l’utilise pour ses projets solo.

Le groupe travaille sûrement à la chanson, comme le montre le message de Colin laissé sur le Dead Air Space :

On a découvert le morceau quand Radiohead l’a joué le 6 mai 2006 à Copenhague. Il s’agit d’un instrumental assez court et pêchu, surement encore en cours de construction…

On savait que la composition était de Jonny ; il le confirme en l’intégrant sur la bande-son du film d’ “Inherent Vice” de Paul-Thomas Anderson tiré du roman de Thomas Pynchon…comme nous l’apprend dans un premier temps le site Slate.

L’info circule donc dans le petit monde de la presse musicale, et est relayée par Pichfork le 6 octobre, dont Jonny Greenwood est abonné au fil tweeter.

Ainsi Jonny apporte quelques précisions : oui, il s’agit bien de Spooks ;  d’ailleurs ce titre n’était pas très “Radiohead-esque” ;  Il ne s’agira pas de la même version que celle entendue en 2006 puis que la chanson a été réinterprétée et jouée par Supergrass, et non plus par Radiohead.
