Il a commencé à travailler avec le groupe en 1994, via Bryce Edge et Chris Hufford. Il était alors employé chez EMI, le label de Radiohead, et il est assez d’accord avec les réflexions des deux sur la musique :

En 1995, il quitte EMI et devient co-manager de Radiohead (en complément d’Edge et d’Hufford).

Il a créé plusieurs labels (dont ATC)  et gère depuis 2002 sa propre entreprise de management, ATC Management.

Le 15 avril 2016, alors que les fans attendent des informations sur la sortie du nouvel album, Brian Message lance une bombe lors de la fameuse “In Conversation” devant 30 personnes : l’album sortira en juin, et il ne ressemblera à rien de ce que l’on a entendu auparavant.

Quelques heures plus tard, le groupe précise ses liens avec Brian Message… et en profite pour rappeler qu’il n’est pas un proche du groupe, à savoir qu’il n’est pas vraiment un manager, mais juste un employé de Courtyard Management… A ce titre, il ne faut pas prendre ses déclarations pour argent comptant :
