E-Bow the Letter est une chanson du groupe de rock alternatif R.E.M., sortie en tant que premier single de leur dixième album studio New Adventures in Hi-Fi, le 27 août 1996.

A l’été 1995, Radiohead avait ouvert les concerts américains de R.E.M., et une grande amitié s’était installée entre les deux groupes.

Lors du concert donné pour le freedom tibetan concert, le 14 juin 1998, les conditions atmosphériques avaient été catastrophiques, et Radiohead avait dû reporter son concert, improvisant pourtant à la date prévue un petit concert dans un bar pour quelques personnes.. Mickaël Stipe les avaient rejoints et avait chanté avec eux Lucky (la version est vraiment superbe !)…. Le lendemain Thom lui a rendu la pareille en montant sur scène chanter avec lui deux chansons : E-Bow The Letter et Be Mine.

la review du NME met en évidence l’amitié des deux :
